A new kitchen or bathroom can feel like a big undertaking. Measurements, materials, trades, timings, it’s a lot to think about before you’ve even chosen a tap. So here’s exactly what happens when you come to Goodey & Howell, step by step, so you know what you’re walking into before you book anything.
It starts with a visit to one of our showrooms in Northampton or Wellingborough. You’ll see real kitchens and bathrooms set up in front of you, not just pictures in a brochure, and you’ll get to chat with one of our designers about what you’re after. There’s no pressure here. Plenty of people come in just to get a feel for what’s possible before they’ve made any decisions at all.
Once you’ve got a sense of direction, we’ll arrange a time to visit your home. We measure the room properly, take note of where your windows and doors sit, and check the plumbing and electrics, since all of that shapes what’s realistic for your new layout. This is the unglamorous bit, but it’s what stops problems showing up halfway through a job.
This is where it gets exciting. Back at the showroom, our design team builds you a fully rendered 3D version of your new space. Not a sketch, a proper scaled visual you can walk through on screen. Don’t like the cabinet finish? Want to try a different tap? It can be changed there and then. Everything up to this point costs you nothing.
Once the design feels right, we put together a clear quote. From here you’ve got two options. Go supply-only, and we’ll handle ordering everything and getting it to you. Or go full-service, and our installation team takes it from delivery through to a finished, fitted room. Either way, there’s no obligation to commit before this point, and no surprise costs sprung on you later.
If you’ve gone with full-service, a trades team comes out first to double-check the survey before anything starts, because getting this right up front means fewer delays once work is underway. Then our own plumbers, joiners, electricians, plasterers, tilers and decorators get on with it. You’ll know roughly what’s happening and when before a single tool comes out of a van.
Every product comes with its own manufacturer’s guarantee, some running up to 15 years, and every installation we carry out is backed by our own 12-month workmanship guarantee on top. Once we’re done, that’s it. No chasing us about a wobbly cupboard door six months later wondering if anyone will pick up the phone.
We’ve been doing this in Northamptonshire for a long time, mostly because people who use us tend to send their friends and family our way afterwards. That’s not something you can fake. If you’d like to see what step one looks like for your own kitchen or bathroom, book a free design consultation and come and talk to us. No obligation, no hard sell, just a proper conversation about your space.
